With so many Hollywood fusionists pregnant right now, it might seem as though a baby bump is a “must have” this season.
We’ve dotted everyone from Jessica Alba to Selma Blair out and about in chic maternity clothes.
But you don’t have to be a celeb to have fashionable mom-to-be style. According to Moody Mamas co-founder Elise Rosemarin, it’s easier than you think. See which bump-friendly trends
she recommends for spring:
Be brave with color. Bold, vibrant hues such as fuschia, orange, emerald, azure blue and coral are all over this season. So don’t be afraid of adding these bright tones into your wardrobe just because you’re pregnant. Just anchor them with dark, complementary colors that provide more shape. For example, pair a hot pink tank with a navy pullover.
Get your shine on. Luxe-looking, metallic pieces aren’t just for women without a baby on board. As expectant mom Jane Krakow ski proved recently, pregnant women can look ravishing in sparkly pieces. Just pair them with neutral accessories and remember “less is more.”
Grip your animal instincts. From snakeskin to cougar, animal prints are a glam way to show off your burgeoning belly. Case in point: Sassy mom-to-be Mariah Carey is a fan. Just remember to wear these patterns with confidence — it makes all the difference.
Go girlie. Soft breezy fabrics and flowing silhouettes with romantic touches like lace and florals are a pregnant woman’s dream. Pair an ankle-length skirt (an elastic waist is more comfortable) with an overstated tank and simple leather sandals for a pretty boo look.
