Olympic skater Tonya Harding as she welcomes a 'healthy and happy' son


U.S. Olympic figure skater Tonya Harding has become a mother for the first time.
The 40-year-old and her husband of a year, Joseph Price, welcomed a baby boy last Saturday in a Washington State hospital. 'Everybody's healthy and happy,' her friend Don Horn said.

'She's always wanted a baby;' Horn told the Oregonian newspaper. ‘She was told she could never have a child ... and guess what? It really is a miracle and she really is very happy.’ The baby was born by Caesarian section and Harding is recovering from the operation in hospital. The couple only revealed that they were expecting a couple of weeks ago. Tonya rose to fame after winning the U.S. figure skating championship in 1991.But she is best known for the attack on rival skater Nancy Kerrigan in 1994.

She married Joseph last year. Joseph, 42, is a Portland area repair man, had a brief stint as a boxer before becoming a regular commentator on U.S. cable channel truTV’s popular program The Smoking Gun Presents: World’s Dumbest.

Klass is expecting a second girl , due next month, with partner Graham Quinn and has admitted that during her pregnancy she’s been experiencing nosebleeds.

Having twins is often a challenge for parents, and Rebecca Romijn can certainly relate. The actress dished to PEOPLE about her twin girls, who have reached the dreaded "terrible twos."

"Its equal parts absolutely adorable and absolutely horrible!" she said about her twins, Charlie and Dolly, with husband Jerry O'Connell. She added that bedtime is no easy matter these days for the girls, who turned 2 in December."I'm just trying to get them to bed at night, but they're 2! That's what being 2 is all about," she said.

Although Romijn and O'Connell walk red carpets with smiles, the truth is they feel just like every other parents of 2-year-olds: tired."There have been so lots of restless nights for my husband and me," she says. "If I can just get them to stay in their beds and shut up at night, I'd be pleased."And with sleepless nights comes sickness.
